Nick's comments on processing
I didn't use the calibration bias or darks, but the rest is all there. Had to debloom the stars (SBIGS don't have AGB CCD's)
I used 30 images in each band, combined as LRGB in Maxim DL, first pass on the star field with a correlation stack, and then colour combine.
Then I used 30 images in RGB bands on the comet nucleus, tracking on that, using a median combine, which removes the stars (trails)
Then the two were merged
Then I ran a rotational gradient process on the L and R bands this brought out the "tail" which was then composited into the master image and blurred to remove the speckles which appear when you do that
Then, adjusted white and black points, and colour adjusted the comet based on straight RGB images
And that was a quick n dirty process, if I had more time, it would be better!
