Comet clearly seen with direct vision through this aperture. Cloud cover sadly prevented an observation last night. The coma displayed a more condensed central condensation, almost but not quite stellar, with the faint outer coma much the same as before, except that it is asymmetrical, slightly extended in P.A. 110 degrees. I was about to examine the comet with the 20cm reflector when the cloud once again rapidly rolled in. Sidgewick Method and Tycho 2 comparison stars used. Naked eye limiting magnitude near the comet 6.7.
"Before and after impact" binocular sketches to follow.
