A very difficult object through this aperture. Comet increasingly diffuse. Sidgewick Method and Tycho 2 comparison stars used. Naked eye limiting magnitude near the comet 6.7. Through a 20cm reflector f/9 at 72x, the comet was even more difficult, with little or no central condensation obvious. At the time of writing there are less than nine hours until the Deep Impact impactor probe strikes the comet. I hope to see a substantial difference tomorrow night!
