Observation made by John D. Welch

Image Parameter Details
Comments: No imaging. Visual only. Approximately 12 minutes after time of impact the coma brightened continually for nearly an hour by an estimated 2 magnitudes. The comet (Coma) was easily visible until it sat over the nearly flat horizon. Subsequent observations for the following two nights displayed a nearly as bright coma (say, .5 magnitude lower) with no perceived brightening of the extended comet area.
